In July, The DeBerry Team has been busy helping home buyers find pre-owned homes as well as new construction homes. July for us was very active in both putting resale homes on the market and helping buyers find the homes they desire. You may ask, what was July like for resale homes in Collin County?

Let’s first understand some of the dynamics in the market at this time. Inventory of resale homes are lower and prices are higher overall with increased interest rates. These things together put a damper on sales for resale homes. Sometimes even negative local news is a factor in both buying and selling decisions. Every homeowner, including myself, always has something to say about our property taxes. Each year I help many of my past clients by providing them with information to help them protest them. My team and I have been doing this for many, many years. It looks like we just may be getting some needed relief finally. However, some may say it comes at a cost in other areas and I am not one to argue that point because doing one thing may affect something else. It is the 1st quarter of the year in real estate and in most cases through history it has been a slower time in overall real estate transactions. If you apply good or bad to this time of the year, you are missing the point. Yes, this year has been off compared to the last 2 1/2 years. In some cases by quite a bit but in others not so much. Homes are selling and that means people are buying. The next quarter will really tell us if the market is going to get back on track to it's…
