Every homeowner, including myself, always has something to say about our property taxes. Each year I help many of my past clients by providing them with information to help them protest them. My team and I have been doing this for many, many years. It looks like we just may be getting some needed relief finally. However, some may say it comes at a cost in other areas and I am not one to argue that point because doing one thing may affect something else. However, with that said, this looks pretty good for home owners. The demand for homes is still strong in Texas. Interest rates may be holding some people back who already own their home from putting them on the market but over the last couple months we have seen some changes in that area as well. It is a slow process but inventory of homes is slowly improving but not to the level that home buyers would like to see.
The Texas Tribune has a good article on what the bill entails that Governor Abbott signed recently and goes to the public to vote on in November. Here is the link to that article: https://www.texastribune.org/2023/07/24/texas-abbott-property-tax-cut/ . I think that most homeowner will be glad to see some relief in this area. Again we will all know more after it is up for a vote and if Texans approve it. I guess that is a lot of if's! However, I think if I was a gambler I would say it has a good chance of getting voted in. The goal for The DeBerry Team of KW is to pass on relevant information that will assist home owners and future home owners when it comes to one of their most important investments, their home.
Keep an eye out for a new post on what the market was like at the end of July in Collin County. I think we will see some good news and of course there may be some offsetting news to go along with that, like inventory and interest rates. However, it is our goal to keep the public informed based on recent real estate information as well as what The DeBerry Team is experiencing in the market. Our team has been busy working both Buyers and Sellers of residential properties and we have seen an uptick on those wanting to list their homes for sale. Summer time is a good time to get homes on the market before we move into the (hopefully) cooler months of fall and winter. If you or someone you know need our assistance, please contact us at 214-676-8040 and we will be happy to assist you. Stay cool if you can and make sure you drink plenty of water if outside. Have a great summer!
